My honeysuckle has aphids. I was outside and thought it looked funny, so grabbed an end to examine closely - and realized I was grabbing tons and tons of gross little bugs.
My skin is still crawling.
It was just about to burst forth with cheery bright blooms. I love the smell of honeysuckle. Yes, I know it's an invasive pest - but I love the smell. It reminds me of summers at home. Last summer - and we live in the middle of the city, remember - I saw a hummingbird for a fleeting second on my honeysuckle. We have just one plant, in a large container, with the goal of having a nice fall over a fence, into the ugly alley behind our house. I thought we couldn't go wrong with a hardy weedy honeysuckle.
And now my skin is seriously crawling. Ugh.
Insecticidal soap? I don't even know what that is. This is seriously a bummer. Any ideas from anyone with a green thumb?

Ladybugs ladybugs ladybugs. You can get them at any nursery or garden store or even home depot. They eat aphids and make the garden awesome!!!!! Just follow directions for thawing them carefully so they will stay (they are chilled to be put in a hibernation state).
OMG, I HATE aphids!!!! Ladybugs will work, but for a more immediate fix, mix dish liquid, like Ivory, with water and put it into a spray bottle. Spray it on the leaves using a fixed jet spray (rather than the lighter, wider spray setting). It will combine to shoot them off and also kill them.
I use an insecticidal soap that I buy at the hardware store.
It's worked really well.

I second and third all of the above. Use the soap to get rid of them right away, and get some ladybugs to keep them from coming back.
