meddlers

My husband's family.....defies comprehension.

So my husband writes back to his mom and his immediate family. Generic stuff about our daughter and what she's up to (and what they've missed over the past 4 months). Yay husband, he also includes this line: Of course, there is quite a bit for us to talk about before getting together. I don't want to get into it in E-mail, but we do need to get our issues out into the open and work to resolve them.

And his sister writes back. Blah blah her usual idiot drivel, plus: Anyway, don't forget mother's day!!!!!!!!!!!!! And please be on time about it. At least a card.

What. The. Fuck.

Yes, it's perfectly all right for mom to tell her 2 year granddaughter that her dad sucks, and to ignore her completely, confusing the hell out of her. But don't forget the Mother's day card!

Gah! This family drives me insane. I really, really just flat out do not comprehend the dysfunction.

You know, after I told my therapist the latest on mine, she just slumped back in her chair and said, "I don't get it." I think with some people it's kinda pathological, so there is nothing to get. It just is. And it's just bad.

I'm happy to tell her where she can put her card, though.

I'm so pissed about this.

Which does not explain why I was at the drugstore and picked out neutral cards, though. My one pleasure is my husband has nxed cards I've picked out for not being flowery or effusive enough. Screw that this time, I got the basic HMD card and that was it.

Bizarre. And completely self-centered. Maybe Tash is on to something with it being pathological. I don't get it either. Sorry you have to put up with that.

Wow, I have been so out of touch with you! You have been much busier than I but I see we are just about exactly at the same opint in the pg travels. Hope we can keep each other company the whole way (I don't have a good record recently either)
As for the in-laws, I think I told you long ago, we got rid of them, hook line and sinker, the drama and games got to be too much and we knew it was never going to change. Sometimes you just have to cut bait, you know?
Now, after all these fishin greferences i think I'm gonna go scare up some seafood for dinner:)
Congrats on the good scan, I'll keep my fingers crossed for next week!
